Our foundation, the Dutch National Cycling Platform (Stichting Landelijk Fietsplatform) designed [and manages] a network of through-going cycle routes throughout the Netherlands, with a total length of more than 4,500 km. All these LF-routes have already been signposted in both directions.

The Cycling Platform also publishes practical LF-route guides. A brief introduction follows.

LF-holiday tours
The LF-holiday tours combine several LF-routes to form one large cycle tour or cycle route. These publications consist of a file with A2-format handout pages with topographic map material (scale 1:100.000), brief information of the area and illustrations. Also included in the file is a thin booklet with background information concerning the route. The compilation Tour of the Netherlands has already been published, combining six (sections of) LF-routes. This is a spiral-bound guide containing 45 detailed topographic maps (scale 1:100.000), compact information on the area and lists of useful addresses.
All LF-routes are also combined in the 'Basiskaart LF-routes Nederland'.

LF-weekendtours
The edition LF-weekendtours consists of eight weekendtours described in great detail along LF-routes in the Netherlands. The LF-weekendtours are between 120 and 170 km: offering two to three days of cycling fun. In a handy file you will find a handout map for each tour in A2-format. The route is already marked on the map. A selection of places to stay and tips for places of interest along the route complete the offer. The publication is priced at € 15,-.

Cycling ideas file
Finally the Cycling Platform has published a Fietsideeënkaart (Cycling ideas file). This brochure has an up-to-date survey of the many recreational cycling possibilities in the Netherlands and offers information on, for example, places to stay, cycling guides and maps, bicycle transportation by rail and bicycles for hire. The Fietsideeënkaart (Cycling ideas file) costs € 3,95.
